Like anything in life, the things we nurture and take care of, last a lifetime! Furniture is no different. To keep your furniture in pristine condition please follow the guidelines below.
Velvet
Clean velvet with a soft hand brush or dry cloth. This will remove any dust or fuzz that has formed on the surface of the fabric and prevent displacement of the pile over time (a velvet’s pile is likely to move and experience wear due to its delicate weave) and therefore fluffing up and brushing the fibres in the direction of the pile will maintain the integrity of the velvet fabric.
It is advisable not to rub stains into the fabric, when a stain occurs, simply blot the surface with a dry, highly absorbent cloth, taking care to avoid rubbing or putting pressure on the fabric. To protect against stains, apply a stain and durable water repellent such as Scotchguard, Masterguard etc.
Linen
Upholestered furniture can lighten if continioulsy exposed to direct sunlight. Dust linen with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Whilst linen materials resist stains, clean nay stain immediately with soapy warm water or glycerin. To protect against stains, apply a stain and durable water repellent such as Scotchguard, Masterguard etc.
Leather
Leather can be damaged by the sun or heat damage. Place leather furniture away from these hazards. You can clean leather using a soft, slightly cloth. To keep your leather looking its best, we recommend you clean it regularly with a leather cleaner.
Wood
Wipe wood with a soft, clean and dry cloth.
Steelwork
Wipe steelwork with a soft, clean and slightly damp cloth while applying slight pressure to remove oil marks.
